While split-system air conditioning units are generally more efficient – room air conditioners that are ENERGY STAR® certified can offer significant savings over regular models. In fact, ENERGY STAR® room ACs use 9% less energy overall, and cost about $70 per year to run on average, making them a great option for any home.

ENERGY STAR® CERTIFIED ROOM AC UNITS

How to Qualify

  • Purchase and install a new, ENERGY STAR® certified room air conditioner.
  • Your new air conditioner must have between 5,000 BTU/h to 27,999 BTU/h to qualify.
  • Purchase your new unit in Pasadena for an additional $15 rebate.
  • Submit your online rebate application, along with a copy of your detailed receipt/invoice and the required supporting documents, within 180 days of purchase and installation.

How to Apply

  • Log in to your PWP account.
  • Select “Apply for Rebate”
  • Please upload your complete sales receipt or paid invoice, including:
    • Product and model number and BTU/h
    • Date purchased and installed
    • Proof of ENERGY STAR model certification
  • Once approved, your rebate check will arrive in 6 to 8 weeks.

Terms

  • Only residential PWP electric utility customers are eligible.
  • Limit to 1  unit per room, every 7 years.
